I am a licensed psychotherapist based in north-central Vermont. I work with families, youth and adults who are seeking deeper meaning and purpose in the midst of challenging and frequently confusing transitions.

I believe that the way we see ourselves in our families - past, present and future - provides the initial framework for how we form our identity. This identity, in turn, shapes how we act at home and in the world.
Family and Individual Sessions
In-Depth Family Therapy
I offer sessions with families to deal with acute crises as well as to heal and grow from intergenerational conflicts and disruptions.
By clarifying unspoken patterns, changing roles and shifting identities in the family system through carefully facilitated communication strategies, in-depth family therapy nurtures long-lasting attachment bonds which heal painful loneliness and isolation, wounds which can persist for years, even generations, if left untreated.
I use the term ‘family’ in the widest possible sense, especially including blended families – often involving step-parenting, adoption, mixed ethnic and racial families, and groups of kindred spirits unrelated by blood but deeply connected by common beliefs, interests, passions or pure circumstance.
COST: $175 per 55-minute session
Personalized One-on-One Sessions
Growing a unique identity transcending the family is a crucial aspect in a person’s spiritual development. As we evolve into realms beyond the family, our self-identity shifts, oftentimes challenging core beliefs and values. Conflict can occur, sometimes resulting in confusion, resentment, divisions, alienation, and eventually deep despair.
On a personal level, the therapeutic process provides first a mirror to reflect our own sometimes hidden selves, and then a light to gain unique insight into who we are and what we are here to do in this world. As Mark Twain famously said: “The two most important days in our lives are the day we were born and the day we find out why.”
